Pokemon GO Fest: Global 2023 is adding four new costumed Pikachu, each with a different Crown! But how do you get the Quartz, Pyrite, Malachite, and Aquamarine Crown Pikachu?

Pikachu is the mascot of the Pokemon series and has dozens of different costumed variants in Pokemon GO. Usually, events will only add one new costumed Pikachu, but the 2023 GO Fest: Global has added four!

Four different costumed Pikachu, each wearing a different colored crown, will be available to catch during GO Fest 2023:

Fortunately, getting all four of these new costumed Pikachu is pretty simple and shouldn’t take too long. However, you’ll need to play during the Pokemon GO Fest: Global event!

There are three ways to get the Quartz, Pyrite, Malachite, or Aquamarine Crown Pikachu in Pokemon GO:

During the Saturday of GO Fest, habitats dictate which Pokemon spawn in the wild and rotate every hour. This means that on August 26, each Pikachu will only be available in the wild during two separate 1-hour windows.

The corresponding Crown Pikachu will spawn in the wild in each of the four habitats during GO Fest: Global on August 26, 2023:

Then, on August 27, 2023, all four of the costumed Crown Pikachu will spawn from 10 AM to 6 PM. There are no habitats on this day, and Pokemon from all habitats will spawn throughout the day instead.

Meanwhile, every version of Crown Pikachu will also be in Tier 1 Raids during Pokemon GO Fest: Global from 10 AM to 6 PM local time on August 26 and 27, 2023.

Fortunately, as Pikachu is a 1-Star Raid boss, it is easy to beat even by yourself. This means that defeating and catching all four of these costumed Pikachu shouldn’t take too long!

Additionally, on August 27, you can pick up and complete the Hatch an Egg Field Research Task to earn an encounter with one of the four versions of Crown Pikachu.

Yes, Pikachu wearing a Quartz, Pyrite, Malachite, or Aquamarine crown can be shiny. However, the shiny odds are very low.

While the exact shiny rate is not known yet, we expect it will be 0.2%, or 1 in 500. This is the shiny rate for previous costumed Pikachu in the game.

Shiny Pikachu wearing a Crown is a slightly darker yellow color than the standard version of this costumed Pokemon.
